Whimsical Charm Event & Competition Terms

Welcome to Whimsical Charm! These terms apply to our online events, activities, competitions and creative opportunities. Individual competitions may have their own additional rules, which will be shown alongside the activity.
1. Taking Part
Whimsical Charm experiences may be enjoyed by adults, children and families where described as family-friendly.
Children should take part with appropriate adult supervision. Registrations, competition entries and formal submissions involving children must be made by a parent, guardian or other eligible adult.
We do not ask children to provide their own email address, home address, school, telephone number or other unnecessary personal information.
Unless stated otherwise, our free events and competitions do not require a purchase.
2. Explore Gothicana
Explore Gothicana is a free, family-friendly online interactive experience running throughout October 2026.
A new part of the story becomes available each day. Activities vary in length and may include puzzles, stories, downloadable crafts, nature activities, recipes and creative challenges.
The experience has deliberately been designed to combine short online interactions with hands-on creativity and real-world exploration.
Step into the story. Then take the adventure with you.
Registration records participation in the event. It does not automatically enter you into any separate competition.
Registered Explorers may receive an Explore Gothicana digital thank-you pack using the adult email address supplied during registration.
3. Competitions & Prize Draws
From time to time, Whimsical Charm may run smaller competitions or prize draws alongside an event.
Each one will clearly explain:
who can enter;
how to enter;
opening and closing dates;
any entry limits;
the prize or recognition available; and
how a winner will be selected and contacted.
Where an activity involves children, an eligible adult must make the formal entry on their behalf.
Taking part in Explore Gothicana does not automatically enter you into these promotions.
4. Creative Submissions
If you submit artwork, writing, photography, music, crafts or other creative work, you confirm that it is your own work or that you have permission to submit it.
Please do not submit copyrighted music, artwork, photographs, characters or other third-party material unless you have the appropriate permission.
Your creative work remains yours.
Where an activity allows selected work to appear on Whimsical Charm, we will explain how and where it may be used. You retain ownership of your work.
5. Children & Public Features
We take particular care when featuring work created by younger Explorers.
We will not knowingly publish a child's home address, school, personal email address, precise location or other unnecessary identifying information.
Where appropriate, a first name, initial or chosen Explorer name may be used with adult permission.
Additional permission may be requested before publishing identifiable photographs, recordings or other personal features.
6. Kind & Safe Participation
Please explore, create and participate respectfully.
Entries or submissions may be refused or removed if they are unlawful, unsafe, threatening, discriminatory, seriously offensive, cruel to people or animals, infringe another person's rights, or otherwise breach the rules of the activity.
Nature activities should always be carried out responsibly. Wildlife should be observed without harming or unnecessarily disturbing it.
7. Privacy
We only collect information reasonably needed to run our events and activities. This may include an adult participant's first name, email address, participation information, permissions and competition entries.
Information collected through the Explore Gothicana Explorer Registry is used to administer the event, understand participation and provide the digital Explorer thank-you where applicable.
Marketing consent is separate and optional. You do not need to subscribe to Whimsical Charm marketing to participate.

8. Fair Administration
Whimsical Charm aims to operate its events and competitions fairly and consistently.
If circumstances outside our reasonable control require an event or competition to be changed, suspended or cancelled, we will take reasonable steps to communicate any important changes.

Event Specific Terms
Belfry Song Competition — Terms & Conditions
Closing date: Entries must be received by 11.59 pm (UK time) on 8th November 2026.
How to enter: Upload songs in MP3 or WAV format, with a maximum file size of 100 MB. Please name your file ‘Artist Name – Song Title’. Send your entries to competitions@whimsicalcharm.co.uk
Eligibility: Open to any age; however, all entries must be uploaded by an adult. Maximum 1 entry per person. Entry is free.
Original work: You must own or have permission to use all music, lyrics, recordings and other material included in your entry.
Judging and prizes: Selected Belfry song entries will be chosen to be featured in the Gothicana Belfry for a set period of time. We will contact you for your permission if your entry is selected.
Rights and privacy: You retain copyright. By entering, you allow Whimsical Charm to share your entry, with credit, for competition promotion and results. Contact details will be used to administer the competition.
Late, incomplete or infringing entries may be disqualified.
Gothicana Soundscape Competition — Terms & Conditions
Closing date: Entries must be received by 11.59 pm (UK time) on 30th November 2026.
How to enter: Submit your soundscape as an MP3 or Wave. via competitions@whimsicalcharm.co.uk, including your name, contact details, and a brief description.
Entry requirements: Create a soundscape inspired by Gothicana. Soundscapes must be between 2 and 5 minutes long, including any opening silence and final fade-out.
Eligibility: Open to any age group, however, entries must be uploaded by an adult. Maximum 1 entry per person. Entry is free.
Original work: You must own or have permission to use all recordings, samples, music and other material included in your entry.
Judging and prizes: Select entries will be chosen to be featured for a set period as the Gothicana soundscape. We will contact you for your permission to feature your soundscape, using the contact details provided upon entry.
Rights and privacy: You retain copyright. By entering, you allow Whimsical Charm to share your entry, with credit, for competition promotion and results. Contact details will be used to administer the competition.
Late, incomplete or infringing entries may be disqualified.
